We have broken from our weekly sessions but get together for singing in special places. Get in touch if you would like to join us.  Our last official event SOUNDING HOAD happened in November 2016 improvising and singing inside the beautiful Hoad Monument, Ulverston.

The sessions feature physical and vocal warm ups and singing, focusing on vocal play and improvisation and some circle singing. Some elements of practice are influenced by techniques to help focus the mind and body.

This is for you if you want to give freedom to your playfulness, explore your own sound and are willing to take risks in a supportive space with like minded women.  There is no expectation or pressure for anyone - you are always in charge of what comes out.

The art of improvisation is liberating. It can be great fun, a bit scary, make you laugh, make you tingle and open parts of you you'd forgotten even existed.

To book a place, find the facebook page SONG BIRDS Ulverston or email [email protected]

All places will be confirmed by email/telephone/facebook message.

YULE SING HOAD       Sunday 17th December 2017      2pm - 3pm (arrive from 1.45pm)

Following a successful launch last year, Kirsten is hosting the second YULE SING HOAD. This event is a magical opportunity for the local community to sing Yuletide songs inside the iconic Sir John Barrow Monument (also affectionately know as Hoad/The Pepperpot) on top of Hoad Hill.

The acoustics inside the monument when singing your favourite Christmas songs are sure to give you tingles. Whether you consider yourself a singer or not, you are invited to be take part.

A participant from last years event said, “What an uplifting start to the festivities. We all left with a huge smile on our faces. Thank you so much for putting it on. Here’s to Yule Sing Hoad becoming a regular date on the calendar.”

The event will run no matter what the weather - unless it comes with an extreme warning. (Please check this website/ or facebook on the 17th December) So be prepared, wrap up warm and don your big boots.

After singing everyone will gather for a photo outside the front of Hoad to mark the occasion before ambling down whichever way you choose. For those that have been good, Father Christmas is visiting Ford Park on the same afternoon - and for the rest of us there is always cake and coffee (including vegan) in the cafe.

This event has LIMITED SPACES. Advance tickets are £8 and will be available to purchase from November (date yet to be confirmed):
