FEEL GOOD SINGING is open to all voices, even those that don't consider themselves singers. The group welcomes people of all ages, health and state of mind. (Wheel chair access.) The sessions are fun and easy going and include gentle warm ups, learning rounds, circle songs, original songs and well loved songs of all genres from all over the world including seasonal and nature inspired songs; folk, gospel, shanties, blues, soul, jazz, traditional and contemporary. From healing and moving songs, to uplifting and feel good.
All music taught by call and response. We sing in unison, part and harmony. (Don't let this put you off if you are a beginner - you'll find your voice in no time). Booking essential. No walks in at the moment folks. For more info email Kirsten: [email protected]
We have broken from our weekly sessions but get together for singing in special places. Get in touch if you would like to join us. Our last official event SOUNDING HOAD saw us improvising and singing inside the beautiful Hoad Monument, Ulverston.
The sessions feature physical and vocal warm ups and singing, focusing on vocal play and improvisation and some circle singing. Some elements of practice are influenced by techniques to help focus the mind and body.
This is for you if you want to give freedom to your playfulness, explore your own sound and are willing to take risks in a supportive space with like minded people. There is no expectation or pressure for anyone - you are always in charge of what comes out.
The art of improvisation is liberating. It can be great fun, a bit scary, make you laugh, make you tingle and open parts of you you'd forgotten how to access.
