Singing Makes You Feel Good . . .

"Singing is good for the mind and the body.

It elevates your mood, relaxes and releases physical tension. It can improve posture and help you focus on your breath.

It increases energy, aids concentration, memory and learning.

It brings you into the now and lets you shake off the day.

When we sing, when we improvise, we find our creativity and free our expression.

When we sing our confidence grows, we connect with others.

We listen. We make space. We open our mouths, never quite sure what will come out. We make a sound.

We learn about ourselves. We learn about others. We let it out. Just let it out."

Kirsten Taylor

'He who sings frightens away his woes.' [Sp., Quien canta, sus males espanta.]

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra from Don Quixote (I, 22)
